About the Designer

Kitty is originally from the Philippines.  She was taught by her Mom to create filet crochet projects and had been was crocheting since her late elementary school years.  She stopped crocheting because, you know, life happened… she went to college, pursued a baccalaureate degree, got a job, pursued graduate studies, work really hard, became a breadwinner, care for elderly parents, become an orphan at the age of 47… Now married to her first and only boyfriend, Del, she suddenly found herself in the United States, and was floored by the variety of yarn she saw at Michaels that she decided to start one of her childhood past-time again - crocheting.

Kitty has crochet lots of doilies, placemats, table runners, throw pillow covers, and even table cloth and curtains with her Mom, Chay, using the filet crochet technique.  However, she is now in that phase of crocheting blankets, throws, afghans, scarves, and cowls, and wanting to design unique fiber-based items to share with fellow crochet enthusiasts or sell as finished products, patterns, or materials in a kit.  She is wanting to go back to making and designing filet crochet projects too, and is currently venturing into Colorwork/Tapestry and Tunisian crochet.

Kitty used to blog and collect postcards and key chains/rings.  She loves to hike (in her younger and stronger years, she was a mountaineer), enjoys digital photography, traveling in general, meeting people and learning about different cultures, and sampling indigenous/native food.  She is a cat mom to an 11 year old male Norwegian Forest, who is fondly called Storm, and an Aunt to nephew Noah and niece Audrey.

She dedicates this blog to the Big Boss Upstairs, who have never ceased to aide her in challenging times, and to her parents, Fred and Chay Gorrospe, who are now her personal angels.
